The San Antonio History Center is just outside of downtown San Antonio. This is a great way to get your picture taken by the old zoo, a lot of colorful buildings, and a statue of Mexico’s favorite movie cowboy (although, you do have to go in the nude to view it).
Be sure to visit New Braunfels before visiting the other places on the list because it is a very non-stop spectacle of life that is home to some beautiful rivers and lakes. You can even go on a little steamboat ride along the river if you like.
The Bush Prairie is the largest sanctuary in Texas and the Bush Boating Museum is located on one of the islands near it. If you happen to be a bit of a nature lover, you can always visit one of the islands and take in the beauty of the natural world. There are also tons of trails and hiking options near this landmark.
Someof the West Texas landmarks include: Lake Travis, Bandera and Belize. The lake is called the Lake Travis because of the large chunks of rock that perches through it.
Another great place to stop for a photo opportunity is the River Bend Trail which winds through the heart of Bandera. If you plan on going to Bandera, you should make sure to stop in at the Watercraft Museum and see the boats that are often on display at this small city.
If you ever visit the Mexican city of Belize, you will want to try a time at the Camino de Santiago which is a 5 day trek around the island. If you haven’t done this before, it can be a bit strenuous, but it is well worth it.
One of the biggest attractions in West Texas is the park where the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is located. If you have never been, you should really check it out.
